Victorian Style Card and Bookmark

Hello Everyone,

I love Victorian or Vintage cards and bookmarks.  It is all sepia, pearls, lace and wonderful papers, reminding me of an era of elegance and style, times gone past, Gone With the Wind, Jane Austen and my gentle, elegant Grandmother.

Oh I love these Victorian girls, so cute, so sweet and perfect for this card.  Wide lace over a background of two types of DP.  A focal embellishment made from ribbon, leaves and a traditional rose and a Chinese rose in reds with pearl string added.  The sentiment is encased in a file name plate and embellished with decorated pins.

The bookmarks are decorated back and front, with lace and flowers.  The bottom has ribbon between the layers with strings of pearls that match.  Beautiful DP has been used as a background and the bookmarks are distresses with ink.  I needed a vintage bookmarks for all the classic novels I read.  Just seems to fit.

These two projects were made for the Victorian/Vintage Card and Bookmark Swap hosted by my friend Yvonne on SCS.

Hope you enjoyed them.  Get inky soon.

Vintage with Yellow

Today is the last day of the Vintage series of challenges at 365 Card Blog.  I have really enjoyed playing along this week, the elegance of the era has been so easy getting the creativity flowing and the cards made!!

I loved making this card with a collage type background over gold card, all distressed and inked.  The embellishment is a cirle of lace with a double bow of sheer swirled ribbon and pearls and handmade rolled roses in yellow with burnishing on the lips of the petals.  I really do like making these roses.

The enjoyment of the week making these cards in the Vintage Series has been wonderful.  It is long time since I had done much vintage at all.

Get some crafting time in this week, relax and enjoy yourself.

Vintage Green

That title reminds me of that little miniature English village in Canberra, not far from the Ettamogah Pub!! But that is nowhere as pretty as Vintage with green posted below.  Timeless.

This would be my favourite, only because I just adore green.  Lovely background DP, distressed and rolled.  Lace, inked flowers with pearls, circular lace flower topped with handmade rolled rose.  I love how Victorian cards are just so open to adding flowers galore.  I love them.

This card is made for the 365 Card Blog Challenge Victorian with green.

Get into cardmaking your will love the feel of paper, so relaxing.

Isn't this the perfect colour for Vintage, so soft, so feminine, so lovely to bring the style and elegance of the Victorian Era, where everything was a totally different way of life and living.

Just stunning with hand-dyed ribbon and lace, delicate flowers with pearl centres and a gorgeous handmade rolled rose amid a circular lace pice.  Background is stamped and layered with distressed DP embellished with cord and brads.

Victorian Pyramid

This card was made a couple of years ago and is one of my major achievements.  It took me nearly 2 weeks to make, as everything on the card is made by me, cut, stamped, embellished.  I loved the journey of making and enjoyed every minute I spent making this work of art.

The original card shape was seen in an Australian Stamping Magazine, but I have no clue who did that article.  I have made mine in very vintage/Victorian theme, loads of distress inks, stamping, altering, embellishing with wire and fibres.

This quarter is all about postage, stamping, altering, stamping to create an interesting, vintage work.

All about Music
All about romance and femininity, the heart of the Victorian rose.

All about time.

This fantastic work folds up to a neat little triangle and can be posted in an especially made box.

Well now you know that I used to be able to stamp and create and have an imagination, but sadly that is no longer the case.  I am no longer a serious stamper, I only stamp to have fun!!!
