I Spy a Candle

Hey Everyone!! cooler here this morning, so good to feel cool air on my skin, I do not deal well with the heat, so I have been loving this cooler summer with only the few warmer days!! Although the lawn is still growning strong!!

I made a card!! Yes I am back to that, so Lisa hosted the I Spy Challenge on SCS and I am sure it is a candle, so here is my effort, a head start on Christmas this year.... how scary!!

Lisa is so funny, she really takes this so seriously and does such a wonderful job, she makes things so fun!!  So Lisa said....

This week I'm spying one of my favourite things...
It starts with a C and ends with an E...

It goes well with a bath but not with a shower...
You always will need one when you're with out power...

So spark up your mojo and join in the fun...
If you play along with my challenge a prize could be won!!!

Now you know I love winning prizes, I love anything that is a freebie, even if I never use it, so I just had to be in this.

Here is a closie of the stacked embellie on my card.  The ribbon is only thin, so I made a quad-bow with it and wrapped it around my card to make more impact.  Three beautifull mulberry flower pointsettias, some bead string (fused beads) and a hat pin of course.  Very tricky, eh??

Now to post on SCS so I get my freebie....

Oh and I think you should pop on over to Lisa's Blog because she offers freebies there too.... Crafting Cottage go on you will love her cards and other things too.  Gorgeous!!!

See you soon!!

Alphabet Challenges on SCS

R is for Ribbon.

I made the ribbon for this card from sequined material scraps, cut to look like strips of ribbon.  Love using scraps and recycled stuff when I can. A simple stamped stentiment ad some lovely flowers, ribbon and pearls to embellish.

T is for Trees

I used the Lovely As A Tree set to stamp in Burnt Sienna on white label, layered on gold shimmer cardstock, embellished with a ribbon and a decorated skeleton leaf.

U is for Umbrella

Love this little image, she is gorgeous, so I mounted her on bright blue raindrops and yellow, stamped 'Wishing you Sunshine' and embellished her with some lovely Lauren roses.

Here is a close up of the roses, they are just beautiful, I love making these.  Most of my stamping friends are getting these for Christmas.

S is for Santa

What a wonderful jolly fellow this Santa is!!! I have mounted him on loads of red and an embossed Christmas paper and embellished with a bow and pointsettia.

Only a couple more to go, and then I hope they start again at A so we can do it all again.  I have loved being in this challenge.

Get inky soon.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Bird Cage Die....

Well finally I have made a card with this die.  I ordered it ages ago and it came about a month ago when life was a little hectic, so didn't use it.  I cut it out as I always do that with new dies, and I admired the die cuts.

The die is just beautiful and I love the way Sizzix dies cut so cleanly every time.  I just need a money tree in the backyard..... yeah right, stop dreaming and get on with it I say.

I decided to make a Christmas Card with it as the silver cage goes so well with burgundy and forest green.  I put an impression on the cage with a fiskars texture plate.  I love using plates and folders.  Cut some branches and flowers and molded the cage to appear rounded.  Pearl centres for the flowers and a hook and bow at the top of the cage.

And birdie was inked with a swirl stamp and he is holding the sentiment in his beak.....  I have seen a bird holding ribbon sentiments before, cannot remember where.

Christmas Cards

I really love all the things that go with Christmas, especially the preparation, the card making, decorating, all the fun stuff that can last for months beforehand and make Christmas very special for family and friends.

I love using my ink pads for more than just stamping. Here I have inked my embossing folder and then embossed the image of snowflakes so it is coloured for the main panel. I have also inked the scalloped strip and the image frame, then stamped the front wording, inside greeting and the image for the front and the envelope in the same colour for a co-ordinating look

Remember that all things in craft have many uses :)

Christmas 12 Card Quick

With this cutting pattern you can get all the coloured pieces you need to complete the pictured cards from just 3 sheets of bazzill cardstock, so team together with base A5 cardstock and some ribbon and you have a great set of cards. So get out those scraps of patterned paper and get cutting. Have fun!
